What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. Similar technologies include local storage and pixels. They help a website work, remember your choices and, on some sites, track behaviour.
Cookies we use
| Type | Purpose | Used on our site? |
|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Security, form submission and core features. These may be set by our hosting provider or when you submit a form. | Yes – cannot be switched off |
| Preferences | Remembering choices such as a dismissed notice or selected country | Limited |
| Analytics | Measuring how visitors use the site | Not currently |
| Advertising / tracking | Profiling or targeting you across other websites | No |
Third-party services
Our pages load some content from trusted third parties. When your browser requests these files, the provider receives your IP address and basic browser information, as with any web request, and may set its own cookies under its own policy:
- Content delivery networks – styles, icons and fonts (Tailwind CSS CDN, cdnjs / Font Awesome, Google Fonts);
- Country and flag data – used by our country selector (for example REST Countries and FlagCDN);
- Images – some illustrative photographs are served by Unsplash;
- Payments and exams – payment processors and remote proctoring providers set their own cookies on their own pages when you use them;
- Social media – links to Facebook, LinkedIn, X (Twitter) and YouTube take you to those platforms, which apply their own cookie policies.
Your choices
You can block, delete or limit cookies in your browser settings. Most browsers also let you block third-party cookies. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop parts of the site, such as application and contact forms, from working properly.
If we introduce analytics or other non-essential cookies in future, we will update this policy and, where the law requires it, ask for your consent before setting them.
More information
For more about how we handle personal information, including your rights, see our Privacy Policy. We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time; the “Last updated” date shows the latest version.
